The Bright Angel Creek runs right next to the Bright Angel Campground and Phantom Ranch. The rushing of the water is great “white” noise for backpackers camping next to the creek. After a tiring day of hiking this white noise helps you fall to sleep. Having camped at Bright Angel a number of times,this white noise is preferable to the loud snoring one hears in the campground.
Bright Angel Creek is home to many a Rainbow Trout. I’ve fished Bright Angel many times. The Blue Winged Olive (BWO) has been the most successful dry fly. I’ve also used Zug Bugs, pheasant tails and little johns with great results as well. For those rod and reel fisherpersons, salmon eggs are killer.
